Derek Knoble, Note 1

MY PRIMARY REASON FOR COLLECTING FOUNTAIN
PENS (WHICH I STARTED ABOUT A YEAR AGO) WAS TO
GET BACK INTO THE HABIT OF WRITING LETTERS
TO THE PEOPLE THAT WERE THE MOST IMPORTANT
TO ME. SO FAR I HAVE DONE A MUCH BETTER
JOB. HOWEVER, I DO NOT THINK THAT I DO IT
ENOUGH STILL.

WHEN I WAS YOUNGER, I RECEIVED PRAISE
FOR MY EXCELLENT PENMANSHIP. OBVIOUSLY WITH
THE INCREASE OF ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
CHANNELS, MY WRITING HAS SUFFERED.

OF COURSE, ANY EXCUSE THAT I FIND TO
WRITE A LETTER (SUCH AS THIS) IS A GREAT
WAY TO REMIND ME TO TAKE MY HANDS OFF
OF THE KEYBOARD, GRAB A PEN, AND LOOK FOR
MY NOTEPAD. THANK YOU FOR THAT OPPORTUNITY.

WE LOSE SO MUCH AS A SOCIETY WHEN WE
STOP WRITING, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION!

WRITTEN ON MY RHODIA ICE NO. 16 GRAPH
PAPER.
WRITTEN WITH MY PILOT VANISHING POINT - WHITE
WITH RHODIUM PLATED TRIM. 18K RHODIUM PLATED
FINE NIB.
INKED WITH PILOT IROSHIZUKU SHIN-KAI.
