Emily Ford to Worthington Ford, letter, page 1, 1902

Dear Worthington:
Your letter reached me
yesterday, and I am glad
that you wrote as frankly
as you did for it gives me
the opportunity, without
implicating any other, of
admitting to you that I
did do what you suspect.
I discussed Bettina while
still under my roof, and
it is no excuse nor exculpation
to add that I did
so because I was feeling sore
