The Zaner method of arm movement writing complete compendium, 1904 edition, Zaner & Bloser, round hand, angular long-loop slanting style, compact penmanship, running hand, pages 84-85

A round hand may be quite graceful, very
legible, easy in execution, fairly rapid, serviceable,
and natural at the hands of some people.

Some people prefer an angular,
long-loop, slanting style, and write
it better and faster than any other.

Compact penmanship appeals to some few persons
who learn to do it better than any other style.

The running hand has long been
a favorite style with many, and, for correspondence
purposes, it is almost ideal.
