Affidavit of Benjamin Eastburn, page 2, 1738



I hereby certify into this Proprietarys secretarys office, that I have
caused to be surveyed and laid out unto James Duke of York the land &
above mentioned, and is accordingly enforced and recorded in my office &
given under my hand at [Lewis]? the first day of the 4th month 1684
Wm. Clark Chief Surveyor of the Counties of
Sussex and Kent

George Thomas Esq. & Lt. Gov. and Commander in Chief
of the Province of Pensilva and Counties of Newcastle Kent &
Sussex on Delaware


To All to whom these presents shall come sender
greeting

Know ye that on the day of the date whereof before me Personally
same Benja Eastburn of the City of Philadelphia Surveyor Genl of
the said Province and Counties, and on his solemn affirma Did Declare
that the annexed Copys of [are here?] Certift and Dr: of a large part of
land do agree with their respective originals remaining in his office
at Philadelphia afored: and that in his said office are a great number
of warrants for surveyign and laying out lands to the Inhabitants of
the said Counties under the hand and Provincial Seal of ? Penn [ls?]
of very ancient date, many of them above 50 years ago, and [also retu?]
and Certificates of Surveys with Draughts of lands laid out in [?]
