Dear Sir. You will see by this that
I am trying for the Prize of fifty dollars,
by sending you a specimen of my left hand
Penmanship, and in doing so give you you
a sketch of how I was unfortunate , and
lost my right arm, while a soldier in
Uncle Sams Army.
