Dear Worthington:
Your letter reached me
yesterday, and I am glad

as you did for it gives me
the opportunity, without
implicating any other, of
admitting to you that I
did do what you suspect.

still under my roof, and
it is no excuse nor exculpation
to add that I did
so because I was feeling sore
