Hildegarde E. Turle letter to Worthington Ford, pages 1 and 2, 1910

My dear Uncle Worthington:
You are certainly
very good to give me
the grandfather's clock
as a wedding present
and I thank you again
and again.

The reason I didn't
write you about my
engagement was because
I thought Aunt

Bettina had told you in the spring
when I told her.

I am awfully sorry this happened
and hope you have forgiven me.
Mr. Taylor is a splendid man and
I am happier than I ever dreamed
I could be.

I have been visiting his family
here in Norfolk, and they are all
