Samuel Staples, Jr., Receipt, front
I Samuel Staples Junr of Gorham County of Cumberland
and State of Maine, have this day received [sic] of Hugh D M Lellan
Executed of the last will and testament of Coln Stephen M L Staples
my brother who died in Philadelphia, The sum of One hundred
dollars, the receipt of which I hereby acknowledge as being a
part of the sum or legacy, of which the said Stephen bequeathed
me by his said last will dated Philadelphia December 15th 1831
And the codicil D the same dated Decr 31st 1831, And I have this day
signed this and one other [?] of the same [?] and date for
the said sum as duplicates -- Done at Gorham this first day
of April, Eighteen hundred & thirty three
